I am Julia Matthews the founder of Hothands. My background is within the textile and design field. I graduated with a BSc in Textiles Design before starting work for an exclusive fabric designer and then moving into a well known high street fashion retailer. Based in Brussels I was sourcing and buying childrenswear from around the world for 13 different countries we retailed in.

In 2000 I relocated back to the UK just prior to the birth of my first child and moved into merchandising and training role with another well-known multinational.

In 2004 after the birth of my third and final child I gave up full-time work. It was at this point that I established Hothands. The idea evolved after experimenting with artwork for my own home. Trying to capture a moment in time from my own childrens' lives, within a piece of timeless but classic artwork.
