My baby is only a few days old old, is there an age limit?
There is no lower age limit for Hothands. However we would advise that under the age of twelve months you have a footprint taken rather than a handprint due to the clarity of the print. We are more than willing to do hand prints under twelve months and have done so very successfully, however a baby will clench its fist. Of course when you have your prints done it is purely a matter of personal preference and it is important that you are happy with it. If in doubt, give us a call and we will advise you.

Do you do kits?
Hothands offers a professional print taking service and as such it is not appropriate to have a DIY version. Taking prints is not as easy as it looks; we edit the prints sometimes quite extensively to give the look that you would like. The prints are then named and aged in beautiful hand painted font. Lots of customers have had a difficult experience with kits and come to us to get the print that they are looking for. In addition the service we provides means that you are never disappointed.

My friend is having a baby, how can I arrange to get prints done?
You can either buy a gift vouchers direct from us on line, or you can call the Hothands studio to arrange a surprise appointment for them to visit us to have the prints taken. For full details or to purchase a gift voucher, click here.

Do you do Hothands parties?
If you are too far away to travel to our studio, how about hosting a Hothands party? We bring the canvases, the kids do the prints and the parents receive a beautiful momento of their child's birthday or special occasion. Please call us on 0115 878 1805 for details. (Dependant on your location and how many canvases are being ordered at the party there may be an additonal charge.)

Can I see your canvases before placing an order?
We would be delighted to show you our canvases before you make a decision. Either call us on 0115 878 1805 to arrange an appointment at our studio or alternatively we have some of our canvases on display at Bambino in West Bridgford (52 Rectory Road, just off Tudor Square).

How is the print taken?
On arriving at the Hothands studio, we will explain the process to you and your children. We then apply paint to the foot or hand (see photos below) and take the print! As simple as that. You will then be able to discuss your writing of ages and names and choose your hand painted gift tag and gift wrap. Your print is then left with us to edit the canvas; make it a perfect print and then carefully gift wrap it if requested. (There are no additional charges for gift wrapping.)

How long does the process take?
Dependant on how many prints you are having, a couple of minutes per print. However please bare in mind, we need to take as long as your child needs, which means we would prefer to take things slower if your children need more time.

When do we receive our print?
The canvas will then be ready for collection within the week.

How do I place an order?
You may order gift vouchers or canvas print sessions direct through this website or by phoning 0115 8781805. For telephone orders, our opening hours are 9.00am – 9pm, if we are not personally available to take your call please leave a message and we will get back to you to confirm we have received your order.

How will I know that you've received my order?
If you place an order online once we have received your payment we will send the gift voucher by first class post to the address given. If you have ordered a canvas print for yourself we will contact you by phone to arrange a convenient appointment time for your prints to be taken. All Internet orders receive a confirmation email.

How can I pay for my goods?
We accept payment by Paypal or cheque (please allow seven days for cheque clearance.) We can also accept cash payment when you have your child’s print taken.

When will I be able to arrange an appointment to have my prints taken?
We are very flexible, Weekends and after school/ after work times is not a problem.

How do I change or cancel an order?
If you wish to change or cancel an order please contact us on 0115 8781805 between 9.00am - 9.00pm. It would be helpful if you could have your order details to hand including: name, address and date of the order.
